General Cautions
FOR PROFESSIONAL USE ONLY
Important Precautions:
Read these carefully before performing the Texture Control service: Ask if your client has ever had an allergic reaction to a hair chemical service. If so, do not perform the Texture Control Service on this client.
1. Check the client's scalp. If sores or abrasions are present, do not perform the Texture Control service
2. Examine the condition of the client's hair, checking for breakage, discoloration, poor elasticity, or texture. Always perform a strand test. If the hair breaks or discolors after the strand test is fully processed and dried and combed, do not perform the Texture Control service.
3. Do not brush, comb, or vigorously shampoo the client's scalp before this service.
4. Always wear protective gloves when performing a Texture Control service. Avoid contact of the Reforming Lotion and Bonding Lotion with the eyes. Should either get into the eyes, flush with cool water.
Straighten Frizzy, Curly or Wavy hair - Thermal Activation Procedure When the intent is to dramatically reduce curl- wave and frizz, (up to 85% reduction with the tightest curl).
1. Shampoo hair with Pravana Sulfate-Pree Clarifying Shampoo
2. Rinse and thoroughly towel dry.
3. Comb the hair straight and remove all tangles and separate into (4) sections.
4. In a plastic or glass bowl, mix 4 oz. of Keratin Fusion Reforming Lotion with 1/2 of the contents (5 ml) of the Keratin Fusion Restructurizing Serum ampoule. For Longer hair, use more of the Reforming Lotion and Restructurizing Serum in the same ratio.
5. Apply to the hair using a tint brush, applying from scalp to ends. Follow by combing the mixture through the hair using a wide-toothed tint comb. Move the hair in a sweeping motion to get it as smooth and as close the contour of the head as possible.
6. Note - It is important to continually comb the hair with mild tension keeping it straight and taught during the entire processing time. Keep the hair moving with tension! Periodically change direction of your combing to maintain tension. Do this by using your comb to select vertical sections and then comb the hair away from the scalp making sure to free and snarls or tangles. Direct the hair in the opposite direction again following closely the contour of me scalp. You may want to alternate between the wider and finer teeth of the comb to increase tension. Be careful to keep hair and product away from the face.
7. Begin processing time once the Keratin Fusion Reforming Lotion is completely applied throughout the hair.
a. For gray or resistant hair, 20-25 minutes
b. For Normal, virgin hair, 15-20 minutes
c. For Color treated hair, 10-15 minutes
d. For highlighted hair, check every 3-5 minutes
Note - It is important to process in a warm room with a temperature of at least 70 F.
8. To fully confirm the curl has been eliminated, locate a small area where the curl is strongest and comb it in the opposite direction of where it has been placed. If the hair is easily redirected, the processing is complete. However, if the hair is resistant to change direction, continue processing and recheck every 3 minutes, selecting a new area to test each time.
9. When processing is complete, rinse the hair for at least 3 minutes.
10. Spray Keratin Fusion Thermal Insulator onto the hair
11. Pre-heat ceramic flat iron.
12. Place client under a warm hooded dryer to remove at least 90% of the moisture. If a hooded dryer is not available, please blow dry using fingers to lift and separate as you dry the hair, making sure the hair is smooth. Aggressive blow drying will cause the hair to puff and frizz.
13. Section the hair without using clips or pins during the following process
14. Taking 1/4" partings, hold the hah- directly out form the scalp. Place the flat iron approximately 1/8" from the scalp. Straighten the hair nearest the scalp using quick short strokes to minimize the steam created. Continue to iron the hair with smooth log strokes for me mid shaft and ends of the hair.
15. Keep the hair very straight and not tangled by keeping the comb in front of the iron as you smooth the hair.
16. Hair is sufficiently ironed when it is smooth and shiny. If the hair has not been sufficiently ironed, it will appear dull and feel coated. Average ironing time for a whole head is approximately 1 hour.
17. Apply the Keratin Fusion Bonding Lotion using a tint brush and then continually comb the hair smooth and flat for tile entire processing time.
18. Process the bonding lotion for 5 minutes
19. When processing is complete, thoroughly Rinse with warm water for at least 3 minutes.
20. Lightly mist the. hair with Keratin Fusion Thermal Insulator and style as desired.
21. Client should not shampoo their hair for 48 hours Smooth Frizzy, Curly or Wavy hair
When the intent is to soften or control curls and waves but preserve subtle movement. 1. Shampoo hair with Pravana Sulfate-Free Clarifying Shampoo.
2. Rinse and thoroughly towel dry.
3. Comb the hair straight and remove all tangles and separate into (4) sections.
4. In a plastic or glass bowl, mix 4 oz. of Keratin Fusion Reforming Lotion with 1\2 of the contents (5 ml) of the Keratin Fusion Restructurizing Serum ampoule. For Longer hair, use more of the Reforming Lotion and Restructurizing Serum in the same ratio.

Be aware that some hair types have stronger, more resistant wave patterns in isolated areas, these areas will require longer processing and should be started first
9. Rinse the hair thoroughly for at least 3 minutes, and then blot with a towel to remove access moisture.
10. Towel dry hair by blotting and squeezing the water out, removing as much moisture as possible - DO NOT RUB THE HAIR WITH THE TOWEL.
11. Apply the Keratin Fusion Bonding Lotion being careful to fully saturate the hair and process for at least 5 min.
12. Rinse the hair for at least 3 minutes.
13. Towel dry
14. Spray Keratin Fusion Thermal Insulator evenly throughout the hair and style as desired.
